What’s in a Puppy Bowl all-star’s DNA?

Let’s find out. As a proud sponsor of Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl XVIII, we DNA tested all of this year’s athletes to uncover breed makeups and important health insights.

Cheer on your team! Watch Team Ruff take on Team Fluff at 11 am PT (2 pm ET) on Animal Planet or discovery+.

Will Wasabi catch a Hail Mary pass right as the clock runs out? Will Snowball’s extreme speed bring Team Ruff another victory in 2022? Tune in to see all the action (and adorable fumbles) unfold.

Is MVP in their DNA?

By testing every player’s DNA, we’ve determined their breed makeups as well as potential health issues to be aware of. These findings can say a lot about how the pups will perform in the big game. For example, a dog that’s 50% Greyhound and 50% Husky may have the speed needed to be an all-star wide receiver. Whereas a pup at-risk of a joint condition may want to steer clear of a position on the defensive line.  After game day, the results will provide the adoptable athlete’s future parents with a playbook on how to provide the very best care.

Get to know this year’s star players. We DNA tested all pups playing on Team Fluff and Team Ruff. Learn more about a few of these adorable (and adoptable!) players. And remember to tune in on 2/13 for all the DNA reveals at 11 am PT (2 pm ET) on Animal Planet or discovery+.
