When Vixen was younger she had a black stipe of coarse fur straight down her back. Her muzzle, ears, and top of her tail are also black, and the rest of her body is a softer reddish color. As she got older the black stripe mostly disappeared, but now the coarse black fur seems to be evenly distributed on her back and sides. Vixen has a very defined figure and weighs about 30-35 pounds and is about 1 1/2 to 2 feet tall at the shoulders. Around strangers and with loud noises she is very fearful (she was beaten and abandonded on the side of the road). Vixen is very smart and picked up training very quickly, but she is goofy and sometimes reminds me of a cat the way she plays with toys. She barks when there is a quiet noise if she doesn't know what made the noise. And Vixen loves a walk in the woods and smells EVERYTHING, rarely lifting her head from the ground. She also loves chasing small animals and has managed to catch a few of them. She loves other dogs, especially playing with our 5

Vixen's ancestry contains a minor amount of Chow Chow, Labrador Retriever, Welsh Terrier, Scottish Terrier, Rottweiler and Pekingese
